Compliance Engineer

Principal Duties include:

  • Travelling to customer sites to perform safety audits, risk assessments, safety testing, and EMC testing.
  • Writing test reports and writing/generating technical files and other documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of engineering degree, engineering technology degree, or equivalent experience (e.g. military training)
  • Experience in machine safety and/or EMC testing preferred but not required.
  • Experience with motors, PLCs, safety relays, transformers, variable speed drives, and other industrial control components is preferred but not required.
  • Recent graduates welcome to apply. Training provided for right individual with eagerness and propensity to learn.
  • Must have good attention to detail, strong work ethic.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to customers via ground or air, 1-2 times per month for 1-5 days at a time (typically 3 days).
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must have (or be able to get) up-to-date passport.

The following physical qualifications are necessary to perform the essential duties of the job:

Must be able to:

  • Work on or under large machinery, climb stairs, climb ladders, etc.
  • Use hand tools to disconnect and reconnect machine wiring.
  • Lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Set up and operate electronic test instrumentation in industrial environments.
  • Read engineering drawings and various standards in both paper and electronic format.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, including typing on a keyboard.
  • Hear and respond to warning signals and alarms.
